Ice Breaker Party

We are pleased to announce the Icebreaker party will be hosted at medieval Conwy Castle! Please join us for welcome drinks and nibbles in the castle grounds!

Castell Conwy is one of Edward I’s castles, and was built between 1283 and 1287, and is a World Heritage Site. Stunning views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and out to Llandudno and Y Gogarth (The Great Orme) can be taken in from one of the eight towers. A 1.3km long castle wall encompass the small town of Conwy, filled with cobbled streets. quirky shops, pubs and eateries, as well as a cute harbour.

This event is free, and is kindly sponsored by PetroStrat Ltd. Please register at the St George’s Hotel beforehand if possible (registration from 1pm – 4pm) as you will need your name tag to access the castle without delay!

Date: Sunday 8th September

Time: 5pm – 7.30pm

Getting to Conwy: from St George’s Hotel, Llandudno there will be by shuttle bus, with buses leaving every 45 minutes between 14.15 and 16.30 (it’s about a 20-minute journey).

Buses will be first come first served – you can book yourself on one during registration. We recommend taking advantage of this, and this will give you an opportunity to explore the beautiful town of Conwy prior to the ice breaker party, with its harbour, cobble streets and town walls. Conwy has many independent shops, cafes and pubs. We will provide a self-guided geology walk around Conwy in the goodie bags at registration!

You are not obligated to take the free bus; you can make your own way to Conwy via taxi, public transport, hire car or even the beautiful 4-mile coastal path walk via Deganwy.

Access: through the car park on Rose Hill St. and the main entrance to the castle (through the shop). The bus will drop off at the end of this car park. Access is via a bridge and a ramp – sensible footwear is suggested for this and within the castle as surfaces are uneven – high heels are not recommended!

Return to Llandudno: We’ve organised return buses from 19.00 until 21.15. This gives plenty of time to either get back to Llandudno for dinner or take dinner and/or a drink in Conwy. You are also free to make your own way back (there are also direct public buses back to Llandudno and several local taxi companies).

Buses are first come first served and return tickets will be given at registration.

The local area has many restaurants to choose from, as well as several fish and chip shops (just keep an eye out for the seagulls – they will steal your chips and maybe nip your finger in the process!!). There are plenty of recommendations for food on websites such as TripAdvisor, and we recommend booking a table for dinner to avoid disappointment.
